My (not calamari brand) rear springs are bent like that, its a part of lifting a vit and the diff rotating

the shocks sound odd, pull em out and check the compressed and extended lengths are the same?

My front calmini shocks are riding at extended length because I don't have any real weight in the front like a winch or bullbar. I noticed my springs are also curving at the bottom but I figured that's how the kit is.

I'm hoping the rear shocks and springs are a bit softer or flexy and don't reli so much on the weight.

Ive heard that the Calmini shocks arnt that great anyway... and end up getting replaced by better ones.... Joseph just got the Calmini lift for his Vit, he may be able to help you more with is problem...

( The wheel alignment issue is fixed by adding more Camber bolts... )

they look like they're rear springs from the 3" kit...

Bucket do you have your rear springs installed, can you measure them?

the springs will settle over time, my 3" kit measured 4" at the from & 5" at the back when installed.

My springs are a tad short of 470mm for the rear. Just measured them

im a bit confused about up travel and topped out and stuff, are you saying with teh car sitting the shock cant compress anymore?

topped out usually means the shock cant extend anymore (too short), bottom out is when it cant compress anymore (too long)

So its at full extension then? There is no more down travel of the wheel?

The shocks are at their full extension! The spring is pushing the car up off the axle and the shock is stretched fully to the point at which if you try to lift the car by the wheel arch, it doesn't budge!

Thats not a problem with the shocks. Its the springs. Calmini make their rear coils to suit XL7's I've been told, so they are FAR to heavy coil rate for a shorty vit. These coils are even too stiff for a LWB vit. You may need to use different coils.

On a side note, it is a good idea to have the shocks limit down travel on a coil sprung vehicle as this will prevent the coils from falling out whilst the suspension is cycling.
