i have a killswitch mounted under the hood of mine... but i still reckon the best anti-theft idea is t-case in neutral... very easily overlooked.

The hand brake is not all it could be.

I don't lock my car, it has no roof so there's little point. I do have an immobiliser though as I needed one to register the car.

More of a concern is breaking down in the bush somewhere and coming back to a bare chassie. This seems to be happening more often

there is a guy on 3wd action with a post from another forum. some guys decided breaking into a car was too hard, so they went along with a flatbed truck, just hoised a whole troopy up and off they went...

It also has full comp insurance with Shannons $10,000 agreed value for only $400 a year..

the old boy's immobiliser back in the day on his GTHO was the little carbon brush in the top of the dizzy cap, no were near as obvious at the rotor button & back then V8 falcoons were everywhere so a rotor button was never that far away.

tards joy riding - these are probably the biggest issue

modified zooks especially with custom items will be pretty obvious.

a zook is not likely to be used to commit other crimes, unless they plan a slow get away, even ram raiding would be difficult.

spare parts - problem is they are trying to sell to the people they stole from. zook enthusiasts are a small community.

use as a farm vehicle - still unlikely

A little over a year ago i had my jimny broken into. It was parked on the street outside my house with all my work tools in the back.
I got a rude awakening at 5:30am on the Sunday by mr plod at my door. He had found the drivers door wide open into the street while on a routine patrol. Drivers window smashed but hanging together by the window tinting.

The idiots stole a usb charger and cord, a pamphlet of trailer towing regs and a jar of assorted screws, clips and bolts that i was keeping from some panel mods. Go figure.
They didnt even touch the $3K + worth of my hand and power tools in the back!WTF! I couldn't beleive it.

That is a very bold statement for your wife to make without having worked for all the major insurance companies. I work in management for the largest motor and home insurance company in WA and that is simply not true.

At the end of the day if an insurance company has a reputation for claims dodging then they would be out of business in a jiffy - especially in WA where word of mouth spreads very fast!
