I think the idea with the hoses/lines though is that they can be cracking on the inside, but still look alright from the outside.. Meaning an unsafe product is deemed safe, and sold
Whereas with a flywheel, belt, pully, harmonic ballancer, engine mount or so.. You can visibly see that the item is on the way out.. And throw it in the trash
its a rubbish bin mate.

Would you use a radiator hose of a 90' accord?
I sure as hell wouldn't. I wouldn't trust it, Who knows what kind of life it has been through.
Any hose is a consumable. Hoses don't last forever and they will certainly not last forever running a large pressure.
I would not trust any hose, off any old car.

do you have all new power steer hoses? one could blow sending oil all over the screen or you could lose assistance and go to swerve and not put enough force in and not miss the old lady that stepped out in front
sure new hoses are always better but calling something shit just cause its old isnt a decent answer, we are all driving old cars we dont know the history of arent we

1. Yes they are new. From not long after the conversion.
2. Powersteer hoses are under the bonnet. No chance of hitting window.
3. Old lady's know better to use crossings.
4. Where did i say something is shit because its old? I'm not calling my old corolla shit, but i am calling the hoses shit.
5. Sortof. The corolla was a 1 owner with all service history and service papers..Suzy's brake system has been pulled apart and restored because of other problems. Locking brake caliper etc.

this is a great find for all the sierra owners, awesome tech.
i agree with royce, really a 20 year old brake line is going to be no worse that the brake line out of a sierra that has been flexed for the last 20+ years & used as a limiting strap for the last 2+ years, but for the sake of spending $30 each for a new brake line isn't something i would think twice about.

I've driven into Power Brakes SA (they have a drive thru just like macca's but for brakes) hand them a brake line & tell them that what I want & come back later that day, the last one I had them make up was a 4 or 5" longer brake line for a GV & that was only $30.

Genuine honda, or standard replacement couldn't be more than $30 each front hose.. Considering the following~
Bling-hoses! (Stainless steel) ~$67.00 delivered from the US for the whole set
Keep in mind only the front two are useful, the rears are a different fitting

Yep, they're illegal. They require an ADR approval tag.
I think the last braided brake lines I had made up were well under $50 each.

I got two front 6" longer stainless steel braided lines made up for $70 each. I went 6" longer as i have a WT conversion and they pull tight on gutters if on full lock. If using second hand item's is your thing, then your wallet will like you, but if you can afford new, then why not? If you can't mod a car safety, then for the care of others and yourself don't do it at all.

the braided lines need to have a plastic sleeve over the shiny bits and made
to the adr standard.

It's a two sided arguement
If you don't like used parts, i suggest you take your brand new car to the wreckers after 5 years.. And buy another brand new one
If i didn't do a WT conversion and lift, i'd still be running 1985 lines.. Which were in good condition
Now i'm running 1991 lines in great condition
I really don't see the issue
Why waste $140 on two lines, when the ones i have utilised are as good as new anyway?
And if a brake line were to ever split, i'll go buy some brand new ones off my Honda parts dealer
Also, i'd love to be driving with my "dangerous brake lines" and have them fail.. Only for my bullbar to make sweet love to your tailgate.

WOW!!!!
Everybody know the hoses that go from the body to the chassis just under the master??? Yes??
I used them the same way shep did as extension's on w/t hoses, even went over the pit's with em on, all thay cared about was that thay were well secured & adr approved.

Hmmm then he'd sue your ass, and with your front end mods you'd been in some poo poo.

I'd spin some story about my bullbar becoming magnetised by solar flares and carbon dioxide levels in the air, causing me to be pulled into the back of his car
And be let off completely

^^^^ true, but by the look of it they could probably argue that your front end is responsible for global warming and polio
also if you mention magnatism by solar flares you'll probably be linked to al quaeda. just fyi
