Hi all,

feeling a bit dumb today as i cant figure out what is going on with the relay for the lights on my sierra.

went to wire up my HID spotties today and got everything installed, Relay, switch's wiring and all, and when it came time to find what wire is switching hi-beam on and off, i got stuck!

I dont know if my car is just faulty or if its a zook thing, but as i have wired up close to 10 sets of driving lights before, all on nissan's, toyota's and one ford i thought i knew what i was doing.

So here is how it goes.

i got my standard lighting loom running a positive signal to two of the wires when no lights are switched on, Once i turn lowbeam on, Only got positive running to one of the cabled, and when hi-beam is on positve is running to the other cable.

so yes, i know what cable is switching between hi and low beam, BUT there is always a positive charge goin into that cable when lights are off. so this is no good for wiring up my relay as my spotties will be on even when my lights are off! (ofcourse i could just turn the switch off in the cab but im wanting to keep this rig as legal as posible while its still my daily drive)

so if anyone can shed some light on how to wire up these damn lights that would be great. Im usually pretty good with this electrical stuff, but this time im pretty stuck.

zooks are negative switching....

have a search for spot light wiring the answer will be clear.

i had a search but coulnt see anything, but that link is great, chears.

as i said feel a bit dumb shoulda searched harder, and shoulda figured out that is negitive switching.

Your not the only one to get stumped by that... when i had my 89 Vit, i wired the spotties up... 2 hours of cursing and swearing... and finally figured it out...

Did a wiring diagram to connect the lights to Zook, if you do a search you can find it.
