Guys,
just purchased a arb bar for my swb 94 sierra.
I have a 2" body lift, and the bar has been modded for a 2" lift.
Does anyone have any pics of the mounting points?

Normally to the chassis rail's but depends how it's been modded.

hey mate i used the top hole in the chassis for the bottom mount in the bar and the welded on a bracket to the top of the chassis for the top hole.

cant take pics of it as it is a tight squeeze and doesnt really make sense

I know he used standard mounts. I was wondering if anyone had pics of this?
I have to pull my bar off first to have a look at what condition my mounts are in.
But before i go hacking into my bar, i want to make sure i don't hack off the actual mounts. make sense??

Hack it off? What do you have on the front now??

If the bar has been modded instead of the mounts it sounds like all you need to do is unbolt your bar and bolt the new one on. Should be no hacking involved. Easiest way to find out is to get on the end of a spanner. Shouldn't take long to take your bar off.

I'd also think about making some sort of mount that goes from the bullbar to the outriggers on the chassis (or what is left of them if they have been cut off, like most sierras). I think the standard ARB bar mounts use the outriggers as well as the chassis, but most people cut these off when they shorten their outriggers.

I have no faith at all in using just the chassis rail mounts - 4 bolts about 3-4mm from the very end of the chassis rail... Maybe just ok for slow winching, but if someone tries to snatch you out of a deep mud hole...stand clear...

ALLWAYS use a chassis point and never the bar, even on a standard setup. they are designed for winching and not the loads from snatching.
