hey guys just wondering if anybody had any pic of aftermarket seats in vitaras and more importantly how they were mounted ive seen some pictures but non have really been clear

more looking at whats needed to be changed with the rails to fit say a saas seat or something similar

ive got some sports buckets to fit in my vit but havent got round to it yet

the whole seat frame will need to be replicated due to the way the original seats are mounted, the frame is part of the seat base.

the inside rail is up on the transmission tunnel & the outside rail is mounted to the floor.

Polar_Bear made up some tech seat frames to mount his recaro's in his Vitara & I stole one to mount my Momo race seats but the deep sides on the momo's are a bitch to get in & out of.

They are going to be a bastard, i'm about to tackle mine as soon as ive fitted my carpet.
I'm wondering if jimny seats might fit better, coz ive got 2008 vitara front seats to go in mine and they're a bit wider than the originals and its gonna be tight.

you can get new seat rails to suit aftermarket seats through Autotechnica. You would be able to order them from your local car shop, super cheap, repco etc.
they cost just as much as their seats, they are vehicle specific so at least you know it's a straight bolt in job.

it was, but i repacked the shed about a month ago and thought i wouldnt need it for a while, so it went to the bottom :roll:
