Hey Guys,
Just bought some gear...108Amp alt,2x optima batt,Redarc isolator ect.
Just after some advice on the best way to wire it up..I am wondering what you guys do to run a winch as I am hoping to run one in the near future(so I want to accommodate for it)I may run a fuse between the alt and the start batt(I only have 2x100amp circut breakers,so I don't have to replace fueses,so was thinking of using them between the isolater and the batteries..)
As you can see by my very colourful wiring diagram...I need help joining the winch...
Who wants to play join the dots~!
Any help would be appreciated!

ok so going by your diagram..
what is with the starter switch with the isolator?? the redarc i have used are fully automaitc..
i wouldnt run the 100a fused
i would run one 100a fuse between the battery and the alternator.
i would run the winch off the main battery

will the redarc handel the amp draw off the aux batt from the winch. it will be supplying 1/2 the load if u dont isolate it some how. it coud be up to 200a depending on the winch

i wouldnt run the 100a fused Why?
i would run one 100a fuse between the battery and the alternator.I think I might have to as they normally have a fues there from STD?
i would run the winch off the main batteryThis seems to be the go?

Can I use the manual override switch on the Redarc(used for jump starting) to supply the winch with power from both batteries while in use?

i wouldnt run the 100a fused Why?cause i am pretty confident they will blow when using the winch, plus the redarc from memory has a built in circuit protector. have never wired dual batteries with a fue in line and never will
i would run one 100a fuse between the battery and the alternator. I think I might have to as they normally have a fues there from STD? i am pretty sure they do as well. if not will be running one when i get around to my alternator upgrade

what are you running off the auxillry battery??

spotties and reverse lights dont really matter.. as they would only be on while the car is on. the rest i would run off the aux battery.
what alternator did you get?? i would be looking for a little more power

Your diagram is sound, I would run the feed to teh aux fuse panel from the fuse though, single cable off the battery terminal will look neater, fuses both ends will also preent a fire from a short between both batteries, pretty standard thing with a lot of em
running hig loads of the aux battery can cause the isolater to cut in and out, I have heard of people wiring the field output from the winch to the start override so it locks it in whenever you are winching, with your batteries that could work well
