I'm getting a lil sick of push starting my car every day this week... Especially as I'm not working near any hills... My battery is not holding charge, it can charge over night and start the car but holds very little power and it probably could only keep the starter turning clicking over for less than a minute before it dies...

So I need a new one... Whats the best/cheapest/good value battery for a stock 1.3 with no winch or any fun stuff?

PS. I know this might be an alternator issue - however if I push start it I can play the radio, have the headlights on, heater etc... no dramas... the only other thing is the cable going from the alternator to the battery, the one with the earthing wire (I think - back left from in front of the car) is sparking, I only noticed this last night... It sparks just under the nut and only when the headlights are on...

hey mate,

Just walk into supercheap or any outlet that has a stack of batteries(batteryworld?)

and take some measurements of your battery and get something similar with a CCA around 400...that will keep you going!Try get a h/Duty battery if you can and one with a few years warranty...

Go an N70 sized battery, they just fit and go for the highest amperage one you can find, alternatively you can fit an optima Red Top if you've got deep pockets there the shit !!
