Hi all, I'm hoping that someone can give me a fairly straight answer on this one.

Basically I have decided to put an original airbox into my 91 JX Zook (the previous owner had a pod filter) and I’m trying to hook up the vacuum hoses for the warm air valve.
I know which one goes from the airbox to the warm air valve actuator, but I’m not sure where the other vacuum hose is supposed to connect too on the carby.
Any suggestions would be great.

I have taken those of my air box.
buuuuuutttt in saying that i remember that i think one of them travels to the entrance on the air box there is a thingy majiggy(don't know the name) for winter it uses the vacume to lift a flap and that lets it suck warm air through a aluminium hose that is attched to the heat shields around the exhuast headers.
i'm not sure if that is correct.

Hi Grizz.
The thingy majiggy is the warm air valve actuator, and I’ve got that one hooked up, I’m wondering where the other vacuum hose from the air box hooks up too.
Also if it is necessary to hook it up at all.

one goes to the valvem, the other to any vacuum port on the manifold

there should be one of those little round restrictor things on it too

if you dont have the big silver heat transfer pipe fromthe exhaust manifold dont bother hooking it up at all, maybe in canberra winters it would help but in summer probably not

Ok, the other one goes on the carby some were don't know were as as soon as i got it i took those off, reason it doesn't get cold enough in Cairns and when it gets cool the car loves it. the warm air valve actuator is for places that get below 10 degrees and thats during the day. i don't think it is a must have thing IMO. but in winter in some places when things freeze it's a really good idea.
it's up to you, if you want it or not.

I don’t think that I’ll bother hooking up the vacuum hoses.
