My tail gate hinges are dodgy.

One is really tight, the other really loose.
They appear to be a pretty simple construction, looks like a bit of rod pressed through the 2 halfes.

Anyone has any success bashing out the old rod and bashing in a new one?
Heat it with an oxy first?

Mild steel rod ok?
Any one know what size rod it needs to be?

Cheers.

Yes, I guess I could.

I know the SuziStore sell them. Believe they are an aftermarket thing.

Just being a tight arse, and hoping that it might be as easy as bashing in a new rod...

I was going to bash out the pins and replace them
Only thing was I found that they tightened up after I tried to punch them through from the bottom
