found a crack in the side wall of my tyre the other day need to get new ones probably just going to bite the bullets and get some muddies if im going to spend money may as well get something like i want. can get big horns in a 235 75 15 for $180 fitted. or buckshots fo $170 but tyres place isn't keen on putting the 30's on standard rims. need to know if i can drive any where with out doing any chopping. this is a lwb vit no lift yet on standard rims.

fairly certain 235 75 will fit starndard rims, any wider ie 30 x 9.5 you need different rims. in terms of clearnace im not certain but i imagine it would scrub 4x4ing and on lock.
mate i'm on 235/75's and they scrub on lock, i'd imagine 30's would scrub pretty badly. They would probably foul on the upper guard at full flex as well. Might be worth investing in a body lift and a big hammer... Any choppy is right, 235 is the limit to the standard rims as far as I know but you might be able to squeeze them on.

yeah i wasn't to worried about 4wding just yet but more so just getting the car home when i put the 27" on my subaru we had to bash the gaurds at the tyre shop before i could leave. in a perfect world i would of had a lift in already and a second set of rims so i just got to go with the cards i have bin delt. was looking at the big horns more so than the buck shots. i am getting them from bob jane our work gets all their tyres for the caravans and campers fitted there cause they are next door so if you talk to the right blokes we get awesome discounts. got a set of tyres for my patrol for $50 a pop.
