Looking for a sierra or vitara for some fun in the bush, budget around $2500-$4500.

Also just want to know if their is an advantage in buying a vitara over sierra other than the 1.6L EFI.

Don't care if it needs some work aslong as its at the right price
In QLD, RWC and rego would be a bonus.

Thanks Jake :)

vitara is more comfortable. no problem on the highway, the heater comes out the "face vents" not just the floor, suspension is a little harder to get to where you might want it to be..

sierra looks tougher, standard height is a lot higher, suspension is easier to work on, may struggle to do 110 oh the highway, especially if you put bigger wheels on it. very choppy ride..

if i didn't need my suzuki as a daily driver, i'd have a sierra. but because i use it for everything, including driving very prissy girls around, i needed something more comfortable and more modern looking inside..

Im planning on going a bit silly with it and the usual lift/wheels/bars without it looking like a pig

If you don't mind doing a little work I have a hard top sierra '88 1.3 5sp that needs a little TLC. Has A/C, 200,000km, plastic OEM WT flares, good paint, a couple of small rust spots, but nothing serious. Just needs a little work on brakes, and some better tyres for RWC as far as i can tell.

$1700 with A/C, $1200 without 8)

In Brisbane.

Thats a lot of k's...

Depending on what may have already been done there may be a lot of work needed over the next couple of years...

at 2k it give alot of leway if work does need to be done. they are on there with 350k's which shows if they are looked after they go a long way.

if its to 4x4 in then its fine as you dont want a mint one with low k's that you pay premium for that u could end up dinting. at this price just think if u roll it or dint a few pannels how much is it still worth at the end of the day. prob 1500 if a couple dints or $1000 if rolled. max u can loose is 2k. if u spend 4k with less k's you have potential to loose alot more.

don't forget this is a carby model with high kms. I reckon $2K is a bit steep.

$1200 - $1500 sounds good. Its likely going to need a metric buttload of work given the km's its travelled.

And may turn out cheaper in the mid to long term to buy a newer, more expensive car with less kms...
