Gday guys i just went for a drive up the road and my clutch cable has snapped
Anyways i just wanted to know if this is a fairly normal thing to have happen, ive been driving suzukis for nine years and haven't snapped one yet
Also the bearings are fucked in my gearbox(im just waiting for my new one to be built)and in the last four weeks its been really hard to change into 1st 2nd and 3rd could this be a related problem???

Yeah thats what i was thinking i just wasnt sure if i should wait till the new gearbox goes in or just get one tomorrow

I went through 4 in 5 months when I had that stupid heavy duty clutch in it

might be hard to shift cause the cable had stretched so the clutch wasnt engaging properly

Just got a new cable from suzistore now lets see if i can fit it and make it work

Um cable wasn't the problem, i snapped the pedal
Anyone seen this happen before?

ford's are good at that, have welded many..

I've done simliar in my silvia except a broke the whole frame holding the pedal.

Take it out, weld it, refit it and you're good to go.

I spoke to Suzistore and they said they have one there i can have but they want to see my pedal as they have not seen or heard of this before

my ute snapped the accel pedal up top like that, so i swaped to a 1.3 item and fitted boosted brakes. It was a major pita to
remove and refit the pedal box assembly.

I'd say it would be, it was a misson just getting the clutch pedal off

Now just a quick question for you guys
Before all this happed the other night, my clutch would engage with the pedal about an inch off the floor but now with the new cable it engages with the pedal nearly all the way out
Is this normal for a new cable

just adjust the cable til the pickup is right and allow for a bit freeplay.
or just wait til the new box goes in

Yeah i have adjusted it as far as it can go
I was thinking the clutch might be that far worn out

Fuckin car, i dont mind spending money on it but i wish it was on airlockers or something cool

undo the nut on the end of the cable a bit and it will engage closer to the floor

Same. Its more likely cable adjustment than clutch wear.

Yep i have undone it as far as it will go
If i undo it any more it will come off

do you have the 2 nuts and threaded bit to hold it on the bracket on teh block or the stupid clip in rubber bung thing?

actually its pretty good, I had trouble getting enough adjustment in mine, it might sort itself out a bit once the cable stretches a bit

I hope so, but if not then ill just put in a new clutch when the box comes out

Went for a drive down to Bunbury today and when we got down there the clutch started to slip when loaded up
So i pulled over to find gear oil driping from the bellhousing so i thought gear oil on the clutch would be causing it to slip so we turned around to limp home
Made it about five km from home and then when we stoped at the last roundabout i went to take off and the car just wanted to stall
After five mins Tasbrad came to tow me home and we found that the only way to move the car was with my foot on the clutch, it didn't matter if it was in neutral or not it would just clunk and bang

Ive got a new box getting built now so the oil leak or the clutch slipping doesn't bother me, but i just wanted to know why the car wouldn't move unless i had the clutch in
I was thinking the gearbox has siezed up, what do you guys think????
