what does it mean if when i physically pull my front wheel out towards me (studs facing me) it has play and squeaks a little? does this mean my front wheel bearing is shot?

definitely... it would also mean it steers horribly and doesnt return to centre much if at all on cornering, and usually will clunk when you turn a corner.

get onto it fast, if it collapses completely (if it hasnt already) you can chew through your brakes as well, making the repair job far more expensive.

yeah i was planning on doing that, sucks i only just had full front hub rebuild and bearings about 3 months ago and only really been out twice since.

i know how to change rear bearings is front much harder?

dont quote me on this cz im not 100%: front has more to pull apart than the rear, but you dont need a press for the front bearings

yeah its got heaps more to pull off but i guess i'll just have a go

Just pull the bearing out and have a look if it isn't damaged put some mroe grease in and tighten it properly and it will be fine.

They may just be loose, maybe they didnt tension them right or the tab washer has broken allowing the nuts to loosen.

they aren't hard to change, if you can change the rears, the fronts will be do-able.

all you will need is a punch, a hammer and a sterdy platform to work on, the only part that will require the hammer and punch is to remove and replace the cups in the hub, but use the old cups as a barrier for 'hammering' in the new ones and you should be sweet!

just out of curiosity what are you blokes paying for a bearing kit per side.....or how much can weaves do em for(pm if you want weaves)?

as the other day i thought i got ripped a new one well and truly but that was the only set i could get from the one shop without waiting
