Can somebody tell me how to adjust the hand brake on an '89 Sierra?

its a wide track with the handbrake on the rear wheels?

if so chock the wheels, get underneath and loosen the adjuster nut on the handbrake cable (on the underside of the handbrake lever) then roll forward and back hitting the brakes to adjsut them up and do the adjuster nut back up till its as tight as you want it

you dont adjust how ell the handbrake holds with the cable, if its not holding but pulls up tight at the right number of clicks you need to look at your brake shoes
