ok well after 2 months OME Finaly get the springs i wanted but .. i thought i would change my order a bit im thinking of doing RUF with ome Light duty rears ..good idea or bad .. also i have 2 inch extended shakles allready will i need to re drill my spring hangers .. i do realise there are plenty of threds on this.. thanks .. o one more thing should i be useing OME Shocks or go with some other type of shocks ..

I would....

-Use 2 inch rears front and back
-re drill spring hangers 20-25mm back and 10mm up
-keep ya extended shackles on the front, but check your shackle angle
-use commodore/hiace shocks from supercheap

From memory the shocks are $45 each, and you could use you existing rears in the front and only have to buy 2 new rear springs.

I'm running 40mm ome rears all round. I went the medium duty and they flex nice though I've played around with adding subtracting leaves. If I were you I'd go with medium leaves then pull leaves out if you don't like the ride/flex. Its a lot easier to remove leaves from the medium or heavy duty packs than to find spare leaves to add to a light duty pack. Also I'd go the shocks like chopz said. I ran them all around until I destroyed one of the back ones. I replaced the back two with proper OME ones and they're now actually limiting my rear travel.

ok well thanks guys il have to look into more about where to re dril the hangers o one more thing my guess is ur guys have 31s when flexing up do u get rubbing at all or are u running body lifts as well..also hybrid do u mind sending me pic of flex please

just picked mine up this afternoon, i gave up calling i thought they had under quoted me and was giving me the run around

The pic on the ramp is with 30s and a bodylift. It's an old pic just after the RUF and not fully flexed, especially in the rear, as the front passenger side was eating the bumper.

The other pics are with 31s and no body lift. You can see the back is flexing better. I'd trimmed the bumper by then. The back and front are on the bumpstops there. I've never actually got a full flex shot of it. I'll try to get one once it's back together. As for rubbing with the 31s and no bodylift I do get a little on the head light bucket and a touch on the flare. Nothing to worry about though. The rubbing really comes down to bumpstop lengths. Mine are around 26mm on the front.

Last shot is how it sits with the 40mm rears all round and no bodylift.

I personally dont think so, no. The proof is above. Those last 4 shots are with no bodylift. It feels so much more stable without the bodylift.

with the spring combo you have the best thing you can do now is cut off the front top shock mount and make some new ones that are higher.You wont be getting all the flex available without doing this.

Its a nice idea not to ggive it a BL but you will start ripping your tyres apart when wheeling and that gets expensive.

True. It's a bit of a trade off for me. Do I want the extra compression which would entail losing the bumpstops, modding the shock towers and reinstalling a body lift or keep it as is and not get those extra couple of inches up travel. Its not chewing tyres out at the moment but yes compression must be limited to some degree. Then again I can't remember if I was getting negative arch when it was on the stops. If so then I probably wouldn't want a lot more compression anyway.
