I bought this off lowrange and was wondering if there was any difference between sierra shock spacings. It's pictured on a lwb 1.3 NT.
This is what it looks like in full
It's about half a bolt width out, is it a product error or is there different types of spacings... The other end is on the stud btw
yes i know i have a leaky pinion seal
cheers

thats not a leaky pinion seal, it's rust proofing
did the yanks get the NT's? I know they get confused when talking about NT & WT.

 @ atari
yeah righto, i looks really good, so i might just, sell it off.... or go to a engineering shop and get them to mill it out a touch so it fit's....
But before i go spending money if anyone wants it for $50 they can have it....

yeah i'd be keen to fit it also... i don't think modifying it will work unless you can make it longer somehow?
$50 seems like a bargain if you're going to sell it!!!

it only cost $50 to buy from there and it was just in with all my postage....
If i go to the shop and ask to get the outer ends of each hole milled out 8mm, it should fit in theory, that would leave a 1mm tolerance... i could even cut each end with a grinder to make it a slot as the bolts will stop it from coming forward and it won't slide off either way... i could pack it so it won't slide across ways...

I'm told the Lwb's are different at the upper shocky mount's..
Allso the rear seat bracket in the Lwb's get in the way of the after market shock leany overy thingy's.

my LWB has two different seat/seatbelt options. the seat can either be close to the front seats or against the tailgate.

Just looking at the pics, if that is bolted on to the original shockie mounts and then bolts go through 2 of the 5?? middle holes to hold the top of the shockies in at an angle, you will be spacing the top forward the thickness of that thing, wont this be also pushing the shockies forward at the top so that they don't sit flush and square on the mounting bolts and bottom plate ?

Ok did someone work out if there is a slight difference in position between NT and WT top rear shockie mounts. I know that NT is 590 apart.

Pushing the top of the shock forward will make it hit on the diff worse then most aftermarket shocks already do. A bit of rhs bolted to the top of the crossmember with bolts works just as well

If you use that bar, Cant you just turn the spring plates around and run shocks on the front?

That would move the lower end of the shock 100mm+ forward. So they would then hit on the front of the axle tube instead of the rear.
I am drawing one up ATM that allows you to lay the shocks in, but does not space the upper mounts forwards.
Pics up on wednesday night.

i recently found that the tank is a great thing for keeping the diff sort of
located when the diff wants to flop around.

Can you make some plates that the U-bolts bolt down from the top instead of the bottom so there is less to get hung up on?

Ages ago i snapped a mazda leaf, the tank stopped the diff from moving back so i wasnt massively crab walking driving home...

When you run longer shockies you need to move the top mount up so that the shock does not bottom out, however with the rear there is no going up because the floor is there so it has to go inward to make up for the extra length.
In the front you can go up because the shockie is mounted inside the front guard well. In the front people use shock hoops or "stealth mounts" or they extend their bump stops.
In my opinion extending bump stops to stop shockies bottoming out is a poor practice because although with the longer shockies you may gain something in the axles ability to travel further down you will loose most of it in the axles ability to travel upward.
