So last night I went down to the beach.

Purposely got myself stuck a fair few times just to learn how to get unstuck.

No major problems, had to air down a bit for one but was all good otherwise.

However, driving back I've got a very obnoxious whine from the front of the vehicle. Nothing I've heard before really. I thought maybe wheel bearings?

I've checked to make sure I hadn't left a hub locked...

Any ideas? you can't hear it on acceleration probably due to how loud everything is anyway, but rolling it's definitely there.

Goes hand in hand with the while I have from the gearbox in 4th :(

does it do it when the clutch is in?
or as soon as you engage the clutch does it stop?
does it do it when your stationary? or only when rolling?

Only when rolling. Possibly while I'm actually driving, but I can't hear it over the gearbox whine/road noise/muddies.

I've got a noisy thrust bearing and a whine in 4th and 5th so it's hard to tell if it's doing it while driving.

It's definitely not gearbox related.

Well it's clean and still doing it.

I can feel it vibrate slightly through the wheel, RHF.

Looked under there before I washed it, There's a bunch of grease leaked out on the RHS from the inside of the hub.

I know there's some kind of seal there that needs to be regreased every once in a while, I suspect this is my culprit.

I remember seeing it in my workshop manual, I'll suss it tomorrow and fix it up ASAP.

Assuming that's the problem of course.

Whine from the front of the vehicle .................. That'd be the missus

Whine from the rear is the kids.

God rid of the missus before I got the zook! Can't be that.

Though i'll double check tomorrow morning, make sure she hasn't ninja'd into the front seat.

And no rear seats in my zook :P
