I hate auto electrics, I can hook up a stereo but anything else I'm a bit hopeless.

There are a few too many wires hooked up to the battery so I was hoping someone could explain or draw a digram on how I can hook up a fuse box for multiple accessories. I've got this article out of 4WD craption but I can't make sense of it. From what I can make of it, It explains what you need ie. a fusebox block, and how to cut a hole in the kick panel to mount it, how to use a grommet and that's about it.

So I'm sure any other help I can get would be more useful.

The things I want to run off it are:
UHF
driving lights
rear flood light
2 x cig plug outlets
winch
Stereo amplifier
and other stuff in the future.

if you buy a fuse block its generally really simple with a earth and positivie at either end of box which uses battery and then you just run a earth and positive of each terminal that you want to run something off on each fuse they are really simple.

I used the commonwhore VN-VP fuse box to distribute power to a bank of relays, from there they are triggered by the switches off the dash board for all my lights.

Just fitted an aux fuse box and second battery/isolator to my bucket on the weekend. Box is an OEM unit for a Crown forklift and has 11 0r 12 blade fuses. Made up an aluminuim L bracket and mounted it next to the washer bottle (where the charcoal canister was), two of the battery feeds to the aux battery and one B+ to the main battery so i can pick where i draw power from with ignition off.

Used 4mm 5 core trailer wiring as a loom to feed power into the cab (with a few spares for 'ron). Still needs some tidying up and a few relays added but hard work is done, so when i add things like a UHF i just need to plug it in under the dash and pop a fuse in

Use a fuse box with more than you need and just leave the unused fuses out, makes hooking up stuff later a much easier task.

Heres a setup I put into a Patrol winch truck to run all the extra lights and pumps and radios and 24v gear and all the other garbage that leads a patrol need a pair of massive alternators to run

its bits cobbled together using Commondore fuse boxes chopped out of cars from teh wreckers, there is the fusible link box that Atari has used on the back of the cab for other parts and these bits are the under dash fuse panel from a VS and the under bonnet relay block from the same. There are also bits that will hold 3 blade fuses on one of the relay mounts and you can get little mini relays as well for smaller things (like the ones in that pic make the air actuator flip the lights up and down with high beam)

best part is enough stuff to do 2 cars was $15 and if you pick out the bits you need you can have separate sections in the fuse panel for battery, ignition, accessory and aux battery supplies

I've used the fuse block about 3/4 of the way down the page in the past with much succes when doing a 20v conversion into a sprinter. used it to keep all new fuses seperate to the existing loom to make fault finding easier.
