Hiya fellas,

I'm wondering what's the average fuel economy of a standard GV with the 2.5 and 2.7l V6?

Well for my 2.5L GV, i get about 450kms a tank city if i am a leadfoot, which kinda happens alot, as i really like the growl of my new exhaust system, he he... and 500kms city if i take it easy, and on h'way, i could easily get 550+kms per tank... :wink: :lol:

My 99 2.5 manual GV does 550-600km per tank on 225/74/16 with 5.125:1 diff ratios...

The gears really helped the economy and general drive ability with the larger boots.....

PS: I don't really make any attempt to drive it economically!

how many litre's per 100km, litre's per tank is a really poor way to work out consumption?

http://sikls1.v8owners.com.au/index20.html

450kms = 14.6L/100kms

500kms = 13.2L/100kms

550kms = 12L/100kms

550 = 12l/100kms
600 = 10.9l/100kms

Well most would think an Auto would use less... but... Auto's use more then Manuals ! :wink:

Dont know if you have an owners manual for your GV, but if you look at section 11, page 2, it gives you all the fuel consumption figures...

If you dont, here they are -

Manual V6 5 Door - City 13.5L per 100km - H'Way 8.3L per 100km - Average 10.2L per 100km

Auto V6 5 Door - City 14.8L per 100km - H'Way 8.8L per 100km - Average 11.0L per 100kms

But these figures would depend on age/engine kms, and how well maintained/serviced... but the GV really works best h'way, as a tourer :wink: :lol:

When i bought my GV, the car yard was a bit stingy with fuel, i am guessing they only put a couple of litres in... by the time i got near a servo, 10mins later, the GV was coughing when i went around a corner... took me $80 to fill it, i am guessing it was down to 64L 8O dont want it to be that low again :roll: :wink: :lol:
