I have two rear diffs one open one is meant to have a mechanical locker. Is there anyway of telling if it is locked or not as both diff centres look the same

depends on what type of locker being used...best bet is to post some photos...

slot a axle in a side, hold the axle and turn the pinion.

the diff that is locked will turn the axle in your hand

get a photo looking into the centre, where the axles slot in.

and you may want to try diff breathers and a few more oil changes that diff looks shit

It's been sitting under a house. I bought it like that mainly bought it for the housing at the time but now want the locker aswell. Should clean up ok I hope. Looks the same as the open one just a bar with two short bars on each side
