That's the "mythical" Type 3 1.0 litre.

Cab, and Chassis (except gearbox mount) are 1.3. that means the heating controls work, the firewall is extremely easy to mod for boosted brakes, and 1.3 transfer mounts fit. Tunnel is 1.3 sized, and the gearbox is the one that will take 1.3 internals that will turn it into a 5 speed 1.0 litre box, so it's worth good money.

Axles and front clip are 1.0 litre.

Yes, it's rare. It looks like it's in pretty good nick too.

(PS I paid almost that for one with no engine, gearbox or transfer. I didn't want any of those though)

Buy it yesterday.

forget about the 2.0 V6 conversion. It would take the cake for a pointless conversion - complex, bulky, and doesn't sit far enough back in the engine bay from the ones I have seen. It's a terrible way to get 100Kw into a sierra.

My understanding is the dash is a big give away.

Yep. Its the same as mine. I have a 1.3L gearbox in mine with no tunnel mods.

The dash is one clue, another is the colour Red. The Type 1 and 2 1.0 Sierras came out in a slightly more orangey red called Apple Red, while the Type 3 and the first 1.3s had a more maroon Red colour called Peruchet Red.
