Right, alloy diff went south for the winter as I knew it would, now I need to get the 5.12's swapped from it into the steel one. Anyone know someone that they can refer me to to get that done? I got the original ones from the steelie pressed out at a place just behind archerfield airport but it was dear as poison. I'm hoping to get it done for around $40 or so but am i just being a cheap bastard?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Red

$40 good luck
how much did they charge you to remove the one from the GV diff, expect to pay a lot more than that....

Cost me 60 but I thought that was a relative pricing thing. It seemed like a lot for just pressing out the pinion gear. Probably should go back to those guys then
What is the usual?

setting up a diff isn't something to be taken lightly, considering ARB charge $330+ just to fit a locker without removing the pinion.
seeing you need the pinion fitted to the steel carrier, pinion depth set, then getting a good meshing pattern can take a while, then they need to set the backlash, new bearings would be the smart thing to do while its apart, i'd be budgeting alot more that $60...
