hey any of you guys know much about these locks... are they any better than your normal key type locks?

would i be able to fit these in my zook? my locks are screwed, i can open the doors using any key

you would be better off getting new standard or good s/hand standard locks matched to your existing key IMO.

Solex locks are good, not sure if they fit a zook, but as mentioned, if someone really wants in, they are going to get in. The standard locks are good enough though, its not like an old commodore where you could get in with a teaspoon and start it.

the other option is to disconnect the barrel from the locking rod & install key less entry, but if it's a soft top.... you already have key less entry.

instead of popping just the barrel when the jam a screw driver in it.

they destroy half your door trying to jimmy the lock off. when they could of just used packing tape and your wouldn't even of known they were in there...

Look into screamer alarms. cant physically stay in the car because the siren hurts

had a retard try to break into my softtop zook - screwdrivered the locking barrel... and took the ashtray...

the softtop was the small bimini top with two straps holding down to the back.... coulda just put his hand around and unlocked the door.... - I didnt lock the car thou... think it was one of my kids who did thou....

oh well... and i dont lock it anymore.. the barrel still sits in it

only way to keep a soft top safe is stick a evil dog in the back.
Worked for me (when the guy at the tool shop was tring to help load my car)

solex locks are great. you can dead lock them so the thieves cant open the door. at the end of the day they will only keep the honest thieves out.

I'd then leave them something on the seat soo they wouldn't steal my car.. lol
I was looking at getting some myself to be honest as I know my brothers zook key unlocks my ute, my new ute, my brothers lj80 n his lj81 :S

The Zuk locks seem a bit better than old Toyota and Ford locks as well.

I have 2 coilies and a wreck at the moment and none of the keys will get into the wrong ones, but maybe that's just because they aren't 20 years old yet.

But hey if you don't want your car stolen - get a Club Lock.

The theives love club locks, makes it easier to break the steering lock (more leverage) and no time to remove for any serious theif.
