as in the topic

has anyone used greaseable shackle pins with greaseable bushes. Is it a gadget or something worth buying? I have never heard any opinion or known anyone using them so I'm just curious.
cheers

They are a good idea from what I heard, however I had trouble finding the shackles to suit a Sierra.

On the face of it they are a good idea, but they are a fairly high maintenance item - it's advisable to pull them apart once a year or so and clean the sand/grit/dirt/dried out old grease out of them. (I had them on a hilux many years ago)

IMHO just run rubber and change them yearly- same amount of work and performance - very little difference in cost.

I think they are of more benefit with heavier touring type cars. Urethane bushes are too stiff to flex properly under a sierra from what I've seen and greasing them won't help that, although it will soften the initial spring rate.

Steve.

Some other disadvantages of greasable pins are that the grease pressure can force the bushes apart, causing the flanges to get torn up, and that not all urethane is compatible with all grades of grease, so the bushes may harden, or soften once greased. Just some things to bear in mind.
