Ok so i have a 1983 1ltr sierra 4 speed,
Im about to buy a Suzuki Supercarry 5 speed box
In Laymen's terms,
What exactly do i have to do/ change, for this 5 speed to bolt up and work?
I been reading the forums and there is a lot of different answers,
I started this thread so it can be cleared up.
Thank you all
Paul

should have bought a maruti 4 speed and put the guts of a 5 speed 1.3 into it.....much easier.

Which? Cheapest or easiest. The two are mutually exclusive in this case...

How did you find one?
If you don't buy it, I might be interested in buying it for my LJ80, as then I can retain the linkage shift, and not cut a hole in the top of my tunnel for a regular 5 speed top loader .
BTW, easiest would be to find a factory Maruti 5speed 1L box. But I can only recall ever seeing 2 for sale in the last few years. 2nd easiest would be what Joeblow said.

and I got one of them. it's bloody great too!
PORL: if you get a super carry box you will need a 1.3 sierra jackshaft (should be easy enough to get).
