Despite what some may think, Ironman are very good !
I have done my research, they have been around for over 50years, they are 100% Aussie made, and they make suspensions for the Military in at least 4 countries... so yeah, if you think they will suit your needs, then get them !

they are great if you own a ute etc and load the shit out of it.
they handle something like before you fitted them empty(maybe a little firmer)
but loaded the act as if you added about 3-4 leafs into the pack.
I have them on a 4x4 v6 courier and a 2wd diesel hilux I own and for their purpose they are good
I suspect they a set would damaticly limit your suspension action in a sierra however and for that reason I would't fit them to a sierra I own.
They would be fine if you only did road , gravel and light off road.
the 2wd hilux has had them in for about 250,000 km now so they last ok.
Oh and they are adjustble in terms of load by winding the adjuster nuts tighter or loose.

they are not all aussie made mcbear ,maybe 100% aussie owned.
they knock off everyone elses deigns and under sell every other maker using knock offs of their stuff.
they used to make a lot of truck and bus stuff and it was good now however most of thier stuff is make OS and all to a price.
Ask joe or dank if your not sure

We fitted these to our service ute at work (4wd Hilux) but it was so overloaded that the load helpers banged on the chassis over every bump, we ended up just fitting airbags. I've also fitted them to my brothers BA Falcon ute, he really likes them.

100% imported and sourced from other manufacturers more likely. You never really know where their stuff comes from but for the prices they sell it for it is definitely made OS. If you go to their warehouses there are stacks of shipping containers full of parts being unloaded. They are a company with no conscience. Their stuff is cheap, you get what you pay for.
Airbag load assist kits is where its at for load carrying. best thing is you can run low psi when there is no load and it handles just like a normal vehicle.

I have Ironman lifted springs in my Sierra, and they are plenty strong enough without the load plus option. I have removed the load leaf and still has lots of strength. I cant imagine why anyone would need those springs for a sierra, but thats just my opinion.

yeh just came up on ebay for sierras? never seen or heard of them so thought I'd ask.
Bout a year ago in 4wd Action and Custom, Ironman had more then 1 advertisement in every mag. Dunno if still do, so I've known the brand just by name, so its good to hear some people use and like them.
As I dont have the biggest budget, I would consider Ironman knowing others use it, and are happy with them

I wouldn't have a clue about the load plus stuff, but my Ironman coils started sagging before I got
them from the postman. Bloody terrible, never getting Ironman coils ever again.

Its very easy to say all that, but wheres your proof, back up what you say ?!
I suggest you get a copy of 4WD Action issue 153, and read the Industry Feature on Ironman, or do a bit of independent research online for yourself !
I have done my own research, Ironman may be one of the cheapest, but they do NOT lack in quality, and you are Not just buying a Big name like other brands, all of their stuff is designed and tested in Australia, in Australian conditions, and they come with a 2 year 40,000km Warranty !
If their stuff was so cheap and nasty, why would the Military in other countries buy it, and why would over 100 countries import their stuff ? Hmmm...

Ohhh i could say so much right now... but i shall restrain myself... 4WD action was just example buddy, but what they say, in that article, is actually true, i wouldnt have given that example if it wasnt... its pretty obvious you are young, you opened your mouth before engaging your brain...

How can you praise a product you haven't used before? Is that solely based on internet research?
I have had OME suspension products on two of my 4wds & I find them to be great for what they were designed for, but you bag them due to your experience of average customer service at one store, have you used OME suspension before?
How many different spring rates can you get from Ironman, or is it one size fits all, are their struts the standard length or extended to suit the lift?
I would be wary of anything that isn't readily available, what happens if you have a failure & you have to wait another 3+ months for a replacment? At least with something like the OME kit from ARB, you can guarantee them having stock unlike the Ironman kit that you are still waiting for.
A quick Grimbo on the google shows that there are people having issues with the quality of Ironman's products.
3wd Craption can't even retype the information correctly I gave them for my Vitara write up, infact I gave them a word document so they can't even copy & paste correctly. Do you honestly believe the Advertorial about Ironman products was unbiased & 100% true? I wonder which staff member got the free Ironman products fitted to their 4wd that month....

At last something constructive, instead of just jokes...
I can praise a product, because i chose that product, to fit onto my Zook, from an informed/detailed choice... i did ALOT of research, others will vouch for me and my research, just read my rig thread, i dont choose any product without extensive research...
AZ is not the only Suzuki 4WD forum, but it is the best, and there a large number of other 4WD forums, i went through alot of them, i read review after review, of OME, Tough Dog, Dobinson, Ultima, EFS, and Ironman, all those who made the kits for my GV... i found out all their good an bad points, what their capabilities were, how good they after wear and tear, reliability and faults, price, and how the manufacturers/stores dealt with problems...
The one that i found in all those reviews, that came up most consistently for reliability issues, and problems with after sales service, was OME and ARB !!!
I also know that Ironman are not without problems too, but its the amount of those problems, and how they are rectified by manufacturers/stores that sold me on Ironman... plus they provided the best kit, that suited my needs... so i chose Ironman to go on my GV, once they are fitted, and i have direct experience with them, then i will add my own personal experience...
I am Not so stupid to think that 4WD Action are completely unbiased, and that money changes hands both on top and under the table, just look at them and ARB products 6 months ago... but if you research the history of the Ironman company in Australia, as JSW Parts 50 years ago, and then became Ironman in 1988, then you would see that what was printed in the advertorial, is correct...
Ironman are a good, Australian company, that make good suspension products at an affordable price, they have a good customer history, have been around for quite a while, and they tend to not give people the run around when there are any problems, they rectify/sort it out, with them, or replace.....
Well thats enough for now...

kincrome was a good aussie made and owned product too for decades Mcbear. Now its all chinese made crap (but still with an unconditional warranty) I had to send my new 1/2 hour old 1/2" ratchet back the other day as it failed on the second bolt the old kincrome ratchet it replaced feels better internally.
Aussie owned and been around for ages doesn't mean shit if they are now importing crap these days to a price and trading on their past reputation.
And in that great reserch you passed up probably the only aussie made family stuff in dobsons.
most of the brands you mentioned are far superior Quality to the recycled bean cans and engine bocks your ironman crap will be made of.
just a teenage thought

Macbear, from reading 99% of your posts your 2 cents worth is read as trying to justify your purchases.
My 2 worth, i bought ironman springs and they were lethal! Gave my rear shackles a vertical angle and if you stood on the rear of the vehicle you couldnt even get it to bounce.
Had them changed over, the sierra was skipping across the road.

i wouldnt put it in a Suzuki. they are not a load carrying vehicle.
there is no point to putting it in a ute. by the time this product would be in effect most utes would be over its GVM.
just about all utes can take a payload of 1 tone. about 5 barrows of sand. they should be driven accordingly when loaded up. not thrown around a a race track.
