A mate has a GV with a noisy(whiney at 110) rear diff.
Will he have to get a replacement out of a GV or will a Vit centre fit?
Not sure on the ratio yet... He is checking that out and getting back to me.

A vit center will fit, has an extra boss for the a arm but that wont matter

finding the correct ratio in a vit will be the hassle though, if its a manual its likely 4.3 which is GV only

I'd look at the wheel bearing's first.
especially if it has ABS..

The vit diff will fit but it's not just a straight bolt up. And if he is going to change it is he looking to go with the 5.12, if so he will need to change both, not just the noisy one.

Its a Suzuki GV 1999 2.5l v6 manual. Something in the rear is whining like crazy around 110kmph mainly. It does have Abs (Abs that i'm not too impressed with)
This is my daily drive, got a Patrol for my off road sillyness. Sorry to mention the P word on auszookers. Will be keeping the tyres and suspension standardish. Planning on some all terrains soon. Will be prettty close to standard size though. So stanard diff ratios will be the go.

If you find that the diff is your problem and you need to replace it, the diff that I can sell you is out of my 99 V6 2.5lt manual. The ratio is 4.3 & it is complete with carrier. Let me know how you go.

the ABS sensor like to let water in, even just driving in the rain, anything over 100k is just about ready for rear's, front's can go over 200 if kept dry & dirt free..

Do you notice any change in pitch if you back off or accelerate??

Yes there is a differance in pitch between acceleration and backing off the throttle.
Is there anyway to solve the leaking abs sensor problem ? Or bettter still turn it off ?

I think it goes in through the bolt that retains the sensor, but take's a long time to get there..

No you can't turn it off.

If you pull the axle's out & feel the bearing's you should be able to feel if one is buggered, & the axle's have to come out to do the diff anyway..

Thanks for that will pull the rear axle out next weekend if I get time. Will check for possible leaks from abs sensor. Maybe just a case of some thread lock around the abs bolt to stop the water.
