Heys, just wondering what was involved with fitting Chromo's into a wt housing?

How do you go about changing the side gears to 26 spline? Is fitting a lock/spool the only way?

Thanks very much :D

Put a rear centre in the front and then fit the axles.
A spool or lockright etc isn't needed.

just on this, would there be much use in going to cromos without any sort of locker?chances are unless your a boofhead the front wont break unlocked.or have you got a airlocker in the rear or something.

timmy runs 33s unlocked stock axles etc and i ran the same on 31s for 4 years with no breakages but have not long gone cromos as i wanted a front locker.
BUT as the boys have said a rear centre swapped straight in will be the go

I guess its a case of a couple of things at the moment.

One beings the AUS$ is ridiculouly high atm. We're talking chromos for $250 :D :D :D

Also, i'm looking at competeing in tough track next season with Tanshi and Highway_Star, ans i was after the reliability of chromo (as they one thing that has let them down, wheter it be the week before or on the 900point marker of the first track  ) is axels and cv's... with that said though they are running lj's on 33's and 31's...

I'm on 1.3 cv's with 31's, unlocked.

NOTE: Thanks now you have got me thinking... Lets assume i'm driing stupid tracks, unlocked, full steering lock, jumping on the break left foot breakinf to get out of something, what are my chances of breaking a CV?

The customs duty would be 5% of the value of the goods.

Then 10% GST payable on the value of the goods plus the freight costs.

I have a front ARB AIr locker with 22spline shafts, if I wanted chromo's can I fit the locker into a rear diff and install into the front?
Been thinking to but for a while but never got around. Since you guys are talking about it and the Aus dollar is good If it can be done then what a better time than this...

If customs notice you recieving multiple packages from the same sender at around the same time then they will treat it as a single shipment and charge duty and tax accordingly...
