Hi all,
just looking for some info from people that have raised there sierra.
whats a good lift kit?
im looking for an inch and a half or 2 inches, still deciding what will be best,
going to put some 30s on it maybe bigger,

what options do i have? i would prefer not to body lift, although im not completely against it.

what problems will i face with lifting?

Spring lift alone does not allow bigger tyres. At all.

Because the diff can still move up just as far as it did before when the spring is fully compressed upwards, and the tyres will be all over the inside of the guards....

You can extend the bumpstops which will sacrafice up-travel for the sake of larger tyres (and allow you to run a longer shock, increasing down-travel).

29's will squeeze in with a bit of guard hammering and bumper mods to a Sierra without body lift or bumpstop mods.

Otherwise a 2" body lift will give you plenty of tyre clearance for 30s or bigger...

235's will still fit easy with no body lift and most 30's as well

the threads all end up to shit cause there is no answer and nobody can accept that what works for them isnt always the answer for somebody else

lots cant accept that a lot of internet folklore is a waste of time as well

OME springs get a good wrap off the shelf, I liked the kings I had in mine with a leaf removed all round, lots of people say a lot about some brands being stiff, but they can all be tweaked to work well

235's will fit but will need some grinder work on the bumper (and maybe a bit of seam hammering)...

Most 30s are barely bigger than the 235s so same sorta thing applies...

ome 40mm spring, and a small body lift will fit 30s and not complain to much?

you wont need the bodylift, just cut the front tube off the chassis in front of the wheel and hammer the rear seam in the front wheel arch a bit and enjoy life

How many brands still do a 30x9.5 anyway? most will be 235 only now

Yep, do dramas.

If you have a stock front bumper you will need to cut it down a bit though...

One inch body lift would be enough to clear 30s without any dramas at all, and you'd probably get away without any (depending on the tyre you go with) with a bit of hammer work in the guards...

I know that BFGs, Wrangler MTRs and Bighorns all come in a 30x9.50 as well as a 235...

Makes no sense as they are almost identical
