I'm thinking of moving my rear shock mounts to give me some more room for the exhaust. I'm sure I have seen somewhere pics of shock mounts in the wheel well, angled forward but can't remember if it was on a zook or not. Anyone seen/done it like that?

I can remember seeing something like that. Would have to be WT diffs on NT chassis to have the room. Shouldn't be that hard, with a lot of bashing you should be able to run a longer shock too. Would want a twin tube with steel protector for the shaft.

As far as I can remember a NT chassis is the same in that area as a WT chassis. WT diff will certainly help but I don't think NT chassis is going to make any difference compared to a WT chassis.

This is for a WT and i'm running 31x10.5s on 8" -25 offset rims so there is some clearance there. Just by eyeballing it i'm pretty sure there will be enough. I'm intending to use Commodore rear shocks. What do you mean by twin tube with steel protector?

sure ive seen one with the inner guard cutout and poked up through it though

IMHO once you leaned one forward enough to work you may as well angle them in the middle though that would do nothing for your exhaust room

I guess that is the unknown quantity, just how far forward they have to lean.

One way to do it, doesn't do much for my cargo space though


I might just tack some dodgy brackets in place and put some shocks on and flex it up. There's not going to be much I can do other than that I think.
