Hey guys,

dunno if this has been discussed before, i couldn't find anything using search..

I'm wondering what bullbar/winch bar options are out there?

I've only seen Jimnys with ARB bars, although i think they look good, i don't know if i want something that big and cumbersome.

does anyone know of any other companies that make them?
Or a good custom shop that has done jimny bars before?

I don't mind the look of the arb with the top hoops chopped off. Will be a good weight reduction, if you find one second hand cheap. I couldnt do it to a new one..

Otherwise i think it will have to be custom. Im not sure what other brands make them. tjm?ironman? But they will be big and cumbersome also..

Yeah i was thinking the same thing.... couldn't shell out 1200 odd for a new one and get the grinder onto it...

i think the ironman ones are a copy of the ARB.

It's a pitty there isn't more options...

Man shop around.
I got all kinds of stupid prices especially from ARB.
I ended up getting mine for $840.

i have an arb bar and think its the best thing you could do. but if you dont like something that big have a look at this.

http://www.offroad-armory.com/images/BI ... B003LG.jpg

might be worth considering now that the exchange rate is reasonable.

atm the other brand who is doing a factory bullbar is piranha offroad

is pretty much like the ARB, the difference after see the pics is that they have a different cut on the sides, eliminating the issue that some ppl have with the tyre scrubbing with the bar

the price is pretty much tha same that ARB

I like that shape, but who knows go custom and maybe you could get a better price and a better looking bar

The offroad armoury ones are sweet, that's the sort of thing i want, but i reckon the postage for something that long and heavy would be massive.

Has anyone in vic had any bar work done, or know anywhere that does custom bars?

ARB quoted me 2months back only $695. I don't know where all these prices are coming from.

Any reason why you couldnt grab a vit or sierra one and chop that shit out of that.

Bananabars at Coffs do good work. Then again, anyone you ask will make it the way you want it.

Mitch.

ARB don't just throw some steel together. A lot of engineering effort goes into their bars to make sure that the bar and mountings are strong, and that they will not effect airbag operation... Then they have to add the logistical costs (transporting it to the store), overhead costs (paying the people that make it, and sell it to you, rent for their stores, power, water heating) and then make a profit on top...

They may be expensive, but there is logic behind the prices...

Plus given that they don't have a lot of competition for Jimny bars, they can add a bit of a premium....

I'm happy with that price sorry if u misunderstood. I've read a few people say they have been quoted 800 and up for the same product. I dont doubt ARB and tehir engineering team. They are easily Australias strongest bullbar manufacturing team (sales wise not product wise).

Well Mitch you have a dead set bargain for $695.
The prices I got about 14 months back were from $840 and $1299 and
I got them from 8 different places.
So if you got 695 as a price I would fuckin jump at it mate.
Bargain.

Yep, Airbag model, I'm thinking An ARB one might be the easiest option.

i've never seen one second hand, i guess i'll just shop around..

At a guess i'd say a custom job would have to be around a grand upwards wouldn't it?
has anyone had a cvustom one made for anything, how much?

they are mounted fine before people go cutting the outriggers off. once that happens its a shit chassis.

there was a second hand jimny bar on ebay last week.
