how do u drain oil from it?
mine has recently got alot of plaay.
and when ya turn its free then hard for abit then frees up again then hard.. same cycle both ways. no idea whats goin on.

i had the same problem with mine had no adjustment left in it so put a new one in it drives like a new car now no more wandering all over the road

You might have more than one problem there ando.

A) If you have adjusted up the box and it's still loose around straight ahead (or is loose around straight ahead and then goes tight once adjusted) then the box is a throw away. Suzuki offer no rebuild parts for the steering box.

B) It could be possible you have a seized steering shaft uni. This will cause the loose/tight/loose/tight result. The steering shaft unis aren't replaceable, so you'll need a new shaft.

Pull the steering shaft and make sure the unis are free in all directions. It would be annoying to replace the steering box and end up with no play but still have the tight/loose/tight steering feel.

Looked at your steering uni?? I had very similar symptoms with mine, replaced the uni and it is now great. The uni was completely seized on one of it's movements, IE would only move horizontally not vertically and vise versa. Could be worth a look, a lot cheaper than a. Steering box replacement also

Damn i type slow. If you struggle to find a replacement 2nd hand uni(doubt you will) try taking the uni into a drive line place to see if they can find you a replacement/alternative
