Usually its more about the roof rack's rating than the roof itselfs rating..
Are you talking stock racks? Aftermarket?
Only thing that'll be a "maybe" is if you're getting a full roof basket

100kg is about all you would want up there.

75kg rings a bell, but i don't think I'd want even that much weight on the roof.

I've driven a SWB vitara with roof basket and some load (40Kg?) on the roof and it was pretty scary. It's related to the rear roll centre being so different to the front. Raising the rear COG is a bad idea in a Vitara.

Just my 2C.

All Rola Racks (std, sport & HD) are rated at 80kg/pair for both Sierra and Vitara. Same racks carry more on other vehicles so the limit is the mounting point on the car.

In my 25 years of fitting 4wd accessories nearly all roof rack bars I've seen are rated at 50kg per bar and the heaviest full length rack with gutter rails (even on vans) are rated at a maximum of 150kg but evenly distributed any more than that and your cop bait I reckon!

i feel comfortable wheeling with just my swag, camp chair & table on my roof basket but anything more would be horrible.... 100kgs up there would be comical.
