Hey, just picked it up on Tuesday

I'm thinking of doing either tyres or lift first, what do you guys think?
And also anything else you would suggest i do, i would love to hear!

We are going on possible rock and mud first up, i am trying to help him but im not sure which is better for a first mod in that situation?

Tyres for grip or a 2" susp lift for articulation (dips and rocks etc.)

Best thing to do is take it wheeling on the sort of tracks you are likely to be using it on, and find out what its limitations are, then go from there!

Tyres would give grip and some lift at the same time, might that be the better option if you had to pick one?

personally if you're going to take it off road as a stocker be very careful with under body clearance, eg crossmembers/sills & fuel tank as they're pretty much a low rider.

lift first then tyres.

so far i see his choices as 235/75r15 or 30X9.50R15LT with 2" lift?

Is there going to be a big price difference between the two?

I imagine the 30X9.50R15LT would require perhaps more hammer work?

We are heading down to Brunswick on the 20th, and we do a lot of beach work. I think it ends up a good mix of everything actually, sand mud and rock.

There really isn't much difference between a 30 and a 235...

I had 235s under a vit with no lift, and no scrubbing at all.

So your down Mandurah way, i thought i was the only one in Mandurah, but there is another i know about now, he he...

Those tyres on it look like 60 profile, if you put 70 or 75 profile AT's or MT's on it will give you lift, i think i got 10 to 12mm extra height just with tyres...

Those road tyres will be all but useless in Mud, and if the rocks arnt like river wash pepples, they will rip thru the thin sidewalls, sand they would be ok... just...
In my opinion, you need some decent tyres first, especially if you want to go 4wheelin as it is...

Last time i was in mandurah, there was a good place for wheeling on the corner of thomas rd and rockingham road. The enterance was on thomas road, on the side closest to mandurah.

that was about 5 years ago, not sure if its been closed or not since then.

thats kwinana.. Mandurah is further south
always thought that was a moto spot due to the massive rocks blocking the entrance..

Yeah Kwinana offroad area, im pretty sure its only for bikes now but 4wds still go in there

I would start with a 2in suspension lift, as this will let you fit bigger tyres first time, rather than getting new tyres, fitting suspension lift, and then deciding you want bigger tyres (this is inevitable)

Have you been in there Joe ? if so whats it like... is there anyway you can check to see if it is a 4WD area, as i am sure a few of us would be interested in going there !

mate, if i was to do it again i would put a 2" lift in and some 30"s. if you plan on going more than 235 (29") just dont waste ur money, get 30"s first time.

for me, i bought my car with 235's but i want 30"s now, its a small difference so might as well just go straight to it.

Me and him rang around but there's nothing in stock suspension wise next week.

He will either have to go like it is and give it a go, or whack some 30x9.5x15's on and hammer the scrubbies out that he can until the lift kit gets in (OME).

SuzukiStore has pedders shocks in stock... naaaahh i think he will wait for OME lol.

I think ill wait till i can get good OME suspension stuff, and go for some of these for tires:
