question about shocks:
i have ultimas in my 91 zook atm fronts are from a rav4 370mm compressed, 617 extended.
rears are from a 2wd rodeo/hilux and cruiser.... compressed 340 extended 569
just wondering is this set up the best for the setup i have 2inch kings (about to remove load leafs) 2inch ext shackles and 2inch body lift.
or is there something a little longer in extension that yous are aware of
i know this has been covered but measurements are great
and i know ultimas are shit thats why i will be getting ozteck or something like thosee when i work out what to put in her.
also ive been told that the best way to have ur shocks is vertical not horizontal, so why do people "inbord" the shocks?

Do you run extended bumpstops? You would need like an 80mm in the front and ~15mm in the rear to stop those shocks topping out under compression!

no no extended bumpstops i assume, could this be why the wheels dont tuck under the guard on the opposite side when shes all flexd up? but bump stops would stop that too...

Is this the stock bumpstop? If so u'll need that extra bumpstop extension as i stated before.

Front shock length when axle tube touches factory bumpstop is ~290mm
Rear shock length when axle tube touches factory bumpstop is ~330mm

Measurements minus ~10-20mm to factor in bumpstop rubber compression. If your shock compressed length is longer than this both the shock and shock mount can be damaged under heavy compression.

will removing a load leaf from the front and rear really give it more flex?
someone has just said to me that it wont at all, cause the zooks only 900 odd kgs and im better to spend $500 and get some superflexy dobsin leafs....? some before nad aft pics wuld be awesome guys

why spend 500 on new springs when it cost nothing to remove leaves from your existing packs, also im pretty sure in boarding your shocks helps because they work in the same direction of your axel when it travels sort of in an arc if you do this correctly and move your top shock mount over enough you should be able to get away without having to extend your rear bump stops
