Sorting out the last of my headlight wiring and the dog's breakfast it was.

My last big issue is the numpty has pulled the cable compltly out of the loom plug under the dash (the one with a dozen odd wires in it) I cant for the life of my get the pin thats in there out, regardless of which way I poke it.

Have any of you more experienced guys got good tricks to getting it out so I can keep my loom as stock as possible?

The terminal have a small locking tang that holds them into the block.
You need to push the tang down and then the terminal will come out.
I have a dental tool modified for this job but a very small flat screwdriver will work.

thats what I thought. couldnt see it/snipe it loose for some reason.

still no love can't see said tang top or bottom of the pin so am just stabbing a little randomly with no luck.

have a small terminal driver the fits through the block so thats not the problem.

Is the plug that the wires for the headlights come down from the column in an 87 NT sierra.

The previous owner butchered them to put in relays and ran it back into the factory loom.

Just push the tang down and pull them out... The male side of the connector with the female spades in it has the tangs on the spades.
The female side of the connector with the male spades has the tangs built in to the plastic housing.


For these small ones I use a jewellery screwdriver.


Insert far enough to depress the tang and then turn 90 degrees. Pull on the wire and it comes out.

For the other side of the plug you do the same thing.




Insert the screwdriver far enough to raise the plastic tang.

So I ground the end of a jewelers screwdriver down...

and I now have working headlights. armsup.
