So if i got a 1.3L sierra head and bolted it on with the dizzy and shit then a 1.3L seirra box would just bolt up to the motor correct.. does it matter from what year the box and head are from or just the 1.3 L ones?
Would the motor pretty much drop in then? or do you need to weld the engine mounts to the chassis of the sj etc?

Yes to eng mount's, the lt one's are different to 1.3..
you would be better off getting a complete 1.3 & box, cause the manifold's are different to..
Wiring for the eng & alt are different..
More thing's will come to me..

gearbox tunnel needs a bash if no body lift., you can just use two pices of 10mm plate insted of welding engine mounts. But you have to modify the gearbox mounts anyways so might aswell do it properly.
You will need a lot of things from a 1.3L might be better to try and find a 1.3 chassis.
Give this a read.

Off the top of my head you need:
1.3 Gearbox
1.3 Engine mounts
1.3 Sierra Water pump (can use barina pump but you will need a thermo)
1.3 Sierra engine fan (can use thermo as above)
1.3 Carby (Barina one has a whole lot of shit on it that is not helpful)
1.3 Inlet and Exhaust manifolds
1.3 Sierra cam and distributor (or whole Sierra head)
1.3 Sierra fuel pump or electric fuel pump (Barina is electric but whole is in the head for the Sierra pump)
1.3 Accelerator cable (I think the Barina one was a lot longer, not 100% sure on this one)
Use the Barina alternator as it is a ~55amp unit which is much better than the stock sierra one. And as said above you will have to do some wiring.
