I am in the process of installing a G16A in my Sierra and have run into a little issue. I have included a picture below showing the carb, and the plug in question circled. I need to know what the four wires are if anyone can help. The old motor was a G13B and had an old toyota carb on it so it didnt have the same plug. The old plug was blue (it can be seen just below the circle) and had 3 wires, the new green plug that is circled has 4 (i am hoping ones just an earth)



I really dislike this carb, i would prefer an old mechanical carb like the old toyota ones, i think the one sitting on my 1300 is a 3k. does anyone have a good suggestion for a replacement carb. maybe a 4k or something. I dont go on insane angles but i do drive around the state forest tracks.

There are 4 wires if i remember correctly, 2 are positive one is a negative and one will blow a fuse if connected it is not required.
Trial and error if no one else can confirm wire colours but its quite easy to do.

yeah i did pop a fuse playing around, i will have to try it out if no one knows the colours.

Can you trace the wires back to where to go to on the carb. The thing facing us in the picture is a float bowl vent, you also have a fuel cut off solinoid on the otehr side of teh carb. Both will need power when the ignition is on.

Thanks for that, i will have a look at it tomorrow or so. I still need to sort out the accelerator bracket anyway, the one on this carb doesn't suit.
