Welcome back Kymbo I was wondering what happened to you, that is a very interesting request you have made, does it mean you are going hard door or does it mean you are modifying hard door hinges to make Stockman external soft door hinges. I should have a container of hinges in the shed, I will look tonight.

Heh 2stroker, yeah I never give up, just slip into a comma sometimes.
I have to make new canvas doors because the ones I have are a different shape to the F/G body I have. I also have never liked the idea of hinging the doors off the windscreen.
The F/G tub has an inprint on the hinges which match with the hinge in the picture for the 3 holed side. Do the regular door hinges have 3 holes? The spares I had only had 2.
I am planning to incorporate flat plate into the door frame to take the hinges but still be a canvas door.
Oh I still have those LJ grills if you want to swap for hinges

Yep LJ hinge has 3 bolts on body and 3 on door, sierra have 2 on body and 3 on door.
Yep I will swap hinges for grills.
My FG body has alloy plates on the inside with nuts and bolts. Are your doors LJ80 or stockman ? i.e. are they lift off at hardtop hinge position or are they screen hinge?? Do you want to sell your soft doors? stockman soft door hinges are rare as.

Yeah they are the stockman doors which hinge off the windscreen so a rod comes up from the leading edge of the doors which has a hinge pin on top. Its such a pity as they are immaculate condition but I will need the handle mechanisms for the new doors. Unless you had a couple of the handle mechanisms floating around lol
I would prefer the LJ hinges if U have both

That is an LJ hinge, but for the Soft Top windscreen, not the doors.

No 303zuke it has to be a sierra door hinge, the LJ widscreen hinge is 2 and 2 not 2 and 3.
Kymbo don't cut them up I will find you some, mate what you describe is an LJ80/LJ50 style door. The Stockman is not like that it does not hinge from the windscreen frame it has two special hinges that bolt to the body where hard door hinges go, basicly it is like half a hinge with a upward facing pin and on the door frame there are two small corresponding tubes, the door can lift on and off.

Yeah Rhino, you are right sierra door is 2 horizontal on the door and 2 vertical on the car. Not sure what they are off but none of my 5 LJ's have any hinges like that anywhere. What about a sierra tailgate does it have 3 and 2 ????

sierra tail gate has 3 bolts but is alot more compact and a square shape.
Thats on a soft top tho hardtop i'd assume would be different.

My LJ50 windscreen hinges look exactly like the one pictured.
Sierra soft top tg has 2 on body and 3 on tg but is differant shape as Rhino said.

Its not critical which hinges I use, just that the side which bolts to the car has 3 holes of a similar shape to the sample above and that I have 4 matching hinges.

LJ20 and Early LJ50 had 2+3 bolt hinges. Late 50, LJ80 and Stockman had 2+2. (this should go in the "ID an LJ" thread!!)
LJ hard-door hinges will have that same 3 bolt pattern on both halves, Kymb0, so you have the option of finding windscreen OR door hinges. (Rear door for the LJ Hardtop are a narrow 2+2 pattern)

Thats good to know. I think 2stroker sounds he might scrape me up what I need for the job. Buttt my problems just got a bit more complicated. Apparently the guts are missing out of my LJ80 rear drums and I havent got them. This could be expensive :'(

303zuke solves it again.
Kymbo I will have everything you need in a week or 2 when I trailer a recent purchase home for wrecking, complete soft top stockman.

Good things take time I guess....Still chasing hinges for the LJ project. Doors are made....need three holes on one side to match the FG tub.
