I used killrust through a spray gun, worked fine but went a bit dull after a year or so. I've done three cars like that, but they're just rough jobs for the bush. I think if you wanted a nice looking car you should spend the time and money preparing it and getting nice paint.

tip, take the bonnet off to paint it, it's a pain in the arse to paint it while on the car

Heres mine getting done with matt rust kill and the finished product. I put it thorugh a cheap as chips gun and didn't have a drama. Though I'd say matt is easier to lay than gloss.

Just a warning - Silver is a prick of a colour to get right, because it basicly metalflake with clearcoat, unless you get it right, it looks really streaky..you can see the lines that you sprayed as different shades of silver....
If your set on silver, get a cheapish gun and compressor to do it, don't try spraycans.... 8)
You could go to a straight colour rather than metalic which would be a heap easier..... :D

To do it right is a big job, but you should be able to get a decent finish without too much prep if the exisitng paint isn't too bad....

Go white it's easy to repaint and the custom bush strips don't show as much

I had a mate who painted his VC Commodoor with SupaCheap spray packs. 8O

I couldnt believe how good it turned out.

But I rekkon he spent just as much on the spray packs as it would have cost to buy the paint in a tin and a Spray Gun???
