I've got some reco'd Vitara calipers to put on the Sierra, but the rotors still look all crusty. I think they are still OK though, so I don't really want to drop the coin on a new set if these are still good. But I don't think I should put brand new brake pads on with these rusty rotors. Should I just get them machined and run new pads?

if you try hard enough you can get new RDA brand rotors for not a lot more than machining

you will need to see what your minimum thickness is 1st to make sure they arent undersize now or after they get them flat

and bendix 4x4 pads seem to work OK

Can you recommend any suppliers? Are those the rotors that are on eBay?

I measured approx. 16.2mm and 16.4mm for the rotors, so they aren't too bad really. I got quoted $110 to machine the disks though, so I might be better off just getting new ones. I'll chase some prices and see how I go.

WOW!! I got the front discs of my Outback machined for $50. It shouldn't cost much more than that to do.

Well I can buy a pair of rotors for less than I was quoted to get them machined  just over $100, which seems reasonable.

Those Bedix 4wd pads are $90 though. Damn!
