I've got some engine work happening at the moment and have been thinking that further down the track i'll be needing an upgrade in the clutch department. Currently I have a stock Sierra 5 speed with (I think) a Sierra flywheel and Centreforce clutch.

I was thinking my options are a custom clutch but this still leaves the stock transmission that might not fare so well with the extra horses. So perhaps a Vitara 5 speed, converted to remove the transfer case?

what sort of power are you going to be pulling?

If you are geared remember that the force at the clutch/engine interface will possibly be less than stock. When I built my zook, mid range cam, bigger carby, modded intake, extractors with 34" swampers, 4.57 diff gears and 4.9 TT tranny i just dropped a standard clutch in. It never had an issue at all. All the stress will be further down the driveline --> driveshafts, R&P, axles, cvs etc.

Although if you are producing some serious power then you might want to upgrade

Around 150HP i'm guessing. G16 16 valve with an Eaton M45 supercharger.
