can anyone tell me if the starter and alternator from the F8 are the same as the LJ50, Thanks dave.

Starter motors on the LJ50 and LJ80 (F8A) are different and will not sawp, but the alternators should be a swap, they look very similar with the mounts in the right places and the pulley sizes are similar, but I have not measured the pulley offset to be sure. They are interchangable electrically with the same plugs and are both externally regulated.

thanks for that, hope to get a starter, as we are converting it back to a two stroke, over christmas, it currently is running a 1 lt, i have most other parts.
