I have contacted 4xfourart in Turkey that manufacture 5.72 ratio gears for Grand vitaras. The cost on one set for the whole car is $950aud (700 euro). The killer will be freight but they are going to get me a quote. I was wondering if anyone else wanted a ratio change so we my be able to share freight costs.
If you want to have a look here is their site.

If anyone knows where there is a set of 5.12 gears to suit a GV under a grand i am interested also.

not 100%, should be 12 bolt although it really depends what year it is. shoot him a PM.
pretty sure but the rear diff should be able to go straight in using the vitara carrier.

Just did some research and they changed from 10 to 12 bolt around 93 so it will be interesting if it has a 10 or 12 bolt rear.
