Hey guys,

Been speaking to the local tyres blokes and I told them I want the biggest offset and widest rims possible on my zook. He said that 15x10's with a -74 offset would be the way to go withthr 32x11.5R15's I'm about to get. What's your thoughts?

If you want 10" rims, then run a 12.5" tyre. I have 11.5" tyres on 15x10's and the sidewalls are very straight. It would be easy to roll a tyre off the bead.

I've got 2" flexy flares on my gaurds so it would be just out past them which is what im hoping to achieve. Still not sure on weither to go 33's. Got a 1.6 16V 4AGE in it with a W/T case and soon to slide some reduction gears from lowrange in it. Would it be worth going 33" tyres? Dont' wanna be back to little power. Still wanna be able to fly around and comfortably sit on 105km/h on the highway.

if you want 33's - check out the BFG KM2 - its available in 33x10.5r15 - then you can run it on a 15x7 - procomp make a 15x7 -38mm offset (its called the series 52).

i have 2" rubber flares stuck to my WT flares and the tread is jussst covered with 15x7 -38mm rims and 31x10.5 tyres - the sidewalls stick outside the flares.

WHY oh WHY do we have these ppl that just want to attract attention and then get on here a bag out the cops Etc: as pricks and scumbags, then put out the call to get a loan of a set of stocko's to get it back on the road, cause you need it as a DD. Then go and do it all over again.

The advantages you will get by going to that sort of setup is minimal but do it senseable and you will enjoy your 4b and attract less attention and keep it on the road.

I have lux diffs 33's standard gears and 1.6 mpfi. I rarely run out of power, i also have about 3" of Bunnings garden edging flares tacked on to the wt flair
But i think you couldn't go much bigger with out doing a virtual lift

(Oh and my rig is engineered for all of the above)

my thoughts are the "tyre guy" knows nothing about zooks and doesn't give a shit how your car will handle/drive after you leave his workshop.

a 31x10.5 on a 15x8 -25 King or Speedy rim (if they still make them) will do everything you want with the added bonus of still being able to steer...

you will also probably be able to get away with it.

32" tyres on 10" -74 rims in Noosa! goodluck lasting more than a month before DoT pulls you up.

Got prices around and for what I can get in the silverstone 117 extreme's(Simex lookalikes) ($208per tyre) in a 31x10.5R15 bias ply, the closes price on the other tyres I was looking at is $450+. So I'm stupid not to choose the silverstones. Been having a good think about rims. Gunna stick with 15x8's with a decent offset.

(Simex lookalikes) just remember that is what they are for 1/2 the price except half the quality.
Look into the BFG KM2 tyre and get a good quality tyre, might not look as cool with the mates but I am sure you will like them.

Actually Westie, there is nothing at all wrong with the SIlverstone MT117 sports. Infact I'd wager that they'd perform just as well as the 11 ply sidewall'd Simex on a sierra.

So for half the price you'd actually be getting twice as much tyre for your money.

I dunno how hectic you want to go, but when I last bought 4x4 tyres (for my hilux 4 years ago that I no longer have) I bought some mickey thompson FCII's 31inch for around $250 each, and they had a guaranteed 80000km warranty. All I had to do was drop in every 10000 for a stamp in the book.

I didn't actually bother doing it though but if I went with them again I would.
