I just picked up a h25 to put into my father inlaws wide body 2L Vitara. I got a 3L v6 turbo set up off a Mazda to adapt but I think i might start from scratch.
Has anyone else done this. I will do it, but keen for pics and ideas. Mainly manifold and turbo position. I'll do a build thread once I start.

Room is tight thanks to the strut brace. My advise would be to fit the H25 first, then see what room you have left to work with.

H20 standard. And h25 been sat in bay for size up. I either going pasanger side low mount and remote mount oil filter, or higher passenger mount close to manifold and changing to bango fittings on power steering pump. And mount air box passanger side. And moving oxygen sensors and moving rear coolant sensor so exhaust cross over room is achievable.
But someone must have done this before!!

All of this is irrelevant. What are you doing for an ECU?

Standard!!!???!!
Wat ya think. Either a good piggy back or after market. It's not my car so I wont be being a tight arse. It's just IC. Either run extra injector before turbo trigged buy comp or some sought of small water to air I don't know. I'm an auto sparky with a DYNO. I not a engineer. But I sure this one will test me. At least it's manual!

Well it all depends how long you want it to last.
My preference would be a stand alone ECU, but thats a lot of work. A well tuned fuel and timing piggyback would do the job. Just fit a large IC, run sensible boost levels, and fit some larger injectors. +1 injector is such a crude way to go about it all. and if its a water cooled turbo, then a oil cooler wouldn't hurt either.

Aftermarket ecu is a sinch. Fitted plenty. My car was the 1st I've done for my self were money mattered. Do not worry about IC or comp.
I just hoped some one could help on exhaust manifold. I have 2 turbos to choose from. GT25 or GT28. Or the Mazda 3L original. But haven't seen yet. I was hoping the japs have done it and I can copy. Or someone has done it.

fit twin turbos with different spool rates and make separate manifolds. easy fixed

Then you'll have different backpressure for each bank of cylinders.
Don't dick with 2 turbos, go one and make it the T28 IMO. You'll have 2.5 litres to spin it up, just try to avoid a log manifold if possible.
I'd do it same as Fatzook suggests, mount the engine and go from there. When finding a spot for the turbo keep in mind the exhaust routing. It will be a bit tight I think. But cool!

could you bring the pipe from one bank around the front of the engine underneath? then they can match up and you still have some room to get the exhaust out the back?
whichever way you go, get lots of pics!!!

SC12 wouldn't be that much easier really, you still have to mount the thing and plumb it.
M90 eaton would fit in the V, but would need a custom inlet manifold.

And bonnet mods. I have an M45 here and even with the lowest possible inlet manifold it will still most likely occupy more room than whats under the bonnet ( unless a body lift is fitted maybe).
Would be cool though

Dezook is blowing his 2.5L. And has fitted 3 inch bodylift to fit it.
Going infront of engine is no good. Believe it or not but the Mazda cross over pipe fits neatly around back of engine above bell housing. It's just that one temp sender that I'll relocate. I think the 28 is Wat I'll go.
Does any of you guru lads do or know of a remote oil filter for the v6

This is something I've been toying with also. Problem is that you can't run an intercooler, which is something i want considering most of my driving will be along hot beaches at highish RPM...
In terms of H25 turbos, this is the best I've found so far...

Not the greatest kit nor piping layout, but is possible.
My thoughts are to do a setup not too dissimilar to the one below. I love the simplicity and neatness of the "tube" water-air intercooler. This photo is from an MX5, but the concept will work on most cars.

Yeah it will be a tricky one but it not impossible. I'll order the flange profiles and get designing...

If space is an issue just go for a rear mount turbo.. Saves dicking about with a new manifold, and generally with the long pipe from the turbo to inlet you wont need an IC with moderate boost.. Theres alot of these setups out there that work well..

I've seen that in america. They mount turbos just near rear if car. And use a smaller turbo then normal. But I will get it under the bonnet. Should be sweet.

Can you safely run any boost on a stock ecu?

All depends on if the ecu, injectors, and so on can cope. But 9 times out if ten no.

Yeah that's my next thought. Just were the two exhaust meet there is tones of room. Mount one there. Only prob the is a scavenge pump for oil return.

And rapid cooling through water crosings.
High and dry is best.
