rather that dealing with all the crossover pipes etc with a biggish single, what about running 1 smaller turbo for each bank?

twice the expense I guess. But it would be easier to package. 2x GT25 mid to high mount. Twin entry, single outlet IC with BOV on the pipe to TB. Would be nice. You may need to move the battery, and make a custom strut brace, but its not a bad way to go.

Can you get the variable vane GT25 BB turbos from import yards?

EDIT: New GT25R BB turbo $1300inc GST compressor 0.8 A/R, turbine 0.62 A/R. Would spool up fairly nice on a 2.5. Probably have lag untill 2200-2500rpm though. Variable vane would help with this.
