Bonz-Eye 2in lift, reverse wrapped at both ends:
Front 952mm
Rear 1022mm (according to Limnda at TT)

Dobbinson 2in lift:
Front 940
Rear 1010 (according to my tape measure)

Both measured from centre to centre along the top of the main spring.

Just digging up an old thread

In case anybody wanted to know EFS rears are the longest possible spring that can fit in the stock mounting positions with stock shackles. An important note tho is that this spring length ~1035mm is absolute border line for a stock configuration as it is possible for the stock shackle to unload and collapse on to the chassis under a full load due to different spring bush hardness to ever so slight manufacturing differences. Refer to my build thread if you want more technical info.

I am now running custom leafs that are 1025mm long. We will see how they go.

haha awesome news .. havent found many reviews on the Calmini 3" springs tho.. have read good things about Efs 65mm springs also the OME ones..

I'm after 3" of lift to bring my Shocks back into a better ride position..

They sent me 3.5>4" extended shocks instead of 3>3.5".. Only discovered after i installed tho. :s

What I'm wondering from what you guys run and have tried and use/d is:

Is it worth me getting the calmini springs or will the 65mm EFS springs work just as well? or is there springs from another vehicle that will bot in and give me the lift i need.. I dont want to do a ruf as I cant find enough info to feel confident enough to do one myself..

I run 2" extended shackles also..

So what your saying is your shocks are too long?

Yeh they are 1" longer then the ones i was meant to get so am after bigger springs to get full use.

Are they too long? You may need bumpstop extensions to stop the shocks bottoming out on compression...

Yeh I have them made up but I also want the 3 inch springs to raise it higher so that i have more travel in the shocks, not just less travel/distance between the shocks and the new extended bump stops.

That's if you can get 3in raised springs to flex right up to the bump stops. Very few people (if any) have been able to get 3in raised springs to work well.

Does anyone know how long the Calmini leaves are? Are they longer than stock? Or are they just made with more camber to give the lift?


And like Ben said, if the shocks are bottoming out before you hit the bump stops, then you either need to raise the top shock mount, or extend the stop down.

Yeh I have read some down sides to larger camber and less overall length. I just shot and email off to Calmini enquiring about the length of the spring but i did ask for the eye to eye measurement.. after re-reading i'm guessing thats the wrong measurement to take?

The measurement you really want is the eye-eye measurement along the main leaf so you will get the overall spring length. You shoulda also ask for teh free standing camber height of the main as well.

In theory, the longer the main, the more overall flex is possible.
