I changed both diffs, gearbox and transfer case oils for the first time today, and now have 2L left over. How long will this keep for? Although handy to have some spare, it should be a year or more until I need to use it again.


PS - Castrol 80W-90 only $30 per 4L container at repco, thought that was a pretty good deal.

A very long time if kept in a sealed container at room temperature in stable environment, Same go's for engine oils, grease etc. Brake fluid is another story, Because it sucks in moisture from the air it's a good idea to always use fresh fluid.

After a quick drive I think it actually think the oil change made a difference, didn't think i'd notice a change at all. Glad I did it now.
